Job Details:

Job title: Youth Development programs Intern (2 positions)

This position requires youth to work towards developing a communication strategy through social media and web to increase engagement with Tibetan Canadian youth in Parkdale and Etobicoke. The goal of this initiative is to get the youth introduced and more engaged in TCCC community workshops, classes, and programs and services by helping create a positive and welcoming atmosphere and help plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate them. The internship will help our youth engage in community services and gain valuable experiences and develop leadership skills. This position will also assist in developing and editing content for the TCCC newsletter.  The successful applicant would possess:

  • Marketing and social media experience
  • Proven written communication skills
  • Proactive, able to take initiative and able to work with a close team environment
  • Strong creative and conceptual skills
  • Web design skills is an asset


Job title: Education programs Intern – (2 positions)

This position requires youth to reach out to community members to inform them of the various facilities and services provided by TCCC and other organizations. The interns will help with developing events/activities and a communication strategy through social media and web to increase engagement with seniors and general community members. They will help to create a positive and welcoming space for all participants.

The successful applicant would possess:

  • Project management & communication skills
  • Proactive, able to take initiative and able to work with a close team environment
  • Marketing and social media experience
  • Proven written communication skills
  • Knowledge of community services, health & social services
  • Strong creative and conceptual skills
  • Speak English and Tibetan fluently

Job title: Youth/Wellness/Recreational Programs Intern ( 2 positions )

This position requires work to help organize various health & wellness events i.e. sporting events. These activities will help the youth come together and develop friendships while learning about the value of leadership and teamwork. In addition, the intern will also assist with supervising and helping coordinate different open gym sessions as well as private paid bookings.

The successful applicant would possess:

  • Pays close attention to detail
  • Calm under pressure/Conflict Resolution. Demonstrate composure in stressful situations and follows TCCC protocol when dealing with challenging people during these events.
  • Communication: Speak, listen, and write in a clear, confident, respectful, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
  • Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs during these events.
  • Leadership: Mobilize teams, lead by example, inspire others to achieve.
  • Proactive/ Enthusiasm/ Persistence. Act without being told what to do. Passionate and excited about community building. Can-do attitude. Tenacious and goes the distance to get things done.

Job title: Community Centre Admin Intern- (2 positions)

This position requires youth to work closely with the concerned Board members and facility Administrator. The responsibilities include but not limited to administration related works and coordinating various community and private events, develop and assist with running summer programs with youth and seniors if situation permits. Administrative work may involve in helping with membership portal, updating administrative policies on SharePoint and working on small excel databases. The activities focused will be on leading/instructing individuals and groups while also assisting with patrolling/supervising activities. The summer programs will be targeted towards students to develop good leadership and communication skills to become into responsible citizens within their community.

The successful applicant would possess:

  • possess some excel and good word processing skills
  • Web development skill is an asset.
  • Ability to lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs
  • Assist with special events, prepare reports, maintain, and repair any sports equipment
  • Attend to clients with special needs
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations
  • Understand principles of group dynamics, experience mediating disputes
  • Schedule activities and events
  • Proactive, able to take initiative and able to work with a close team environment
  • First Aid Certificate would be an asset
