18th NATA Conference in San Francisco – Aug 31 – Sept 2
Newly elected President Tsering Wangyal attended the 3 day NATA conference which was held in San Francisco on Aug 31, Sept 1st and 2nd. Chief guest Health Kalon Choekyong Wangchuk along with OOT Representative Ngodup Tsering, Two North America parliamentarians Tsewang Rinzin and Pema Chazotsang attended the event. Tencho Gyatso from ICT, Kunga Tashi from Tibet Fund and SFT International Director Dorjee Tsetan were also present at the event. Of the 38 Tibetan Associations across North America, 28 members organizations attended the meeting in San Francisco, California. The event was hosted by TANC (Tibetan Association of Northern America). The agenda included the Health and wellness of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Preservation and Promotion of Tibetan Buddhism, Language, Culture and traditions and also the resolution of the Tibetan political issue. Resolutions were passed at the end of the event which was to be shared with the local communities. The three day event concluded with a talk on Umay-lam by Kunga Tashi and Ngodup Tsering.
